Full installation view of Amygdala filling a long, narrow gallery. A towering sculpture juts out from the side wall. Its main structure is made from driftwood, sculpturally sewn black leather, red silk, and gray hand-manipulated dyed silk, all cradling a convex security mirror. Above, translucent hand-dyed purple silk layered over hand-dyed red silk crepe snakes along a wooden frame, forming a glowing purple-red canopy that softens the gallery’s harsh lighting.

Also in the installation is a freestanding sculpture made from rescued leather and driftwood. It has a small bulge in the middle and is huggable. Together, the works create an environment the viewer enters rather than a single object.
