Hugging Machine
Close view of Rooted Breath, a life-sized interactive hugging machine nestled between the trunks of a living tree. A soft, sculpturally sewn black leather vessel forms a rounded body with tightly coiled folds and openings. Long leather-wrapped tubes extend upward into the tree. When a participant embraces the leather body, it inflates and exhales, creating the sensation of breathing while being held against the tree.
